Obituary of Jim Lavern White
Jim was welcomed to Heaven on June 28th, 2018. He was born in Plainwell, MI, the son of Gilbert H and Carolyn L White. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bev and infant brother Roy. Surviving are his wife Linda, daughters Jamie (Shane) Hodgemire, Tamara (Scott) Rozankovich, son Bill (Penny) VandeGiessen, Siblings Cheryl (Keith) Shaw, Neta (Steve) Chappell, Dan (Nicole) White, 7 grandchildren. Jim was an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam, he was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, sport shooting and homesteading but mostly he loved his family. Jim was employed by Upjohn/Pfizer and retired after 32 years of service. Though he lost his battle with cancer he won the right to be a child of God. He gave his life to the Lord and was baptized in August of 2015. Visitation with the family will be on Friday July 13th at Journey Family Church at the Depot 313 Depot St Gobles 6-8PM. The celebration of his life will be held Saturday July 14th at Gobles United Methodist Church 210 E Exchange St Gobles 12PM and will be followed by a luncheon. The interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta MI promptly at 1pm on Monday July 16th. Memorial contributions may be directed to Journey Family Church Building Fund or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
