Darlene was my "older" cousin who I always wished I could be as pretty as she was, I would look at her and think that she could be a beauty queen. We were the out of the country cousins who came to visit a few times a year. It wasn't until years later after our families had grown that we reconnected through Facebook and actually learned that Darlene and I had more in common then what I ever thought before. Though I might not be the beauty queen, we did share alot of love for gardening, cooking and similar interests such as love of family, you are family Darlene, Love you cousin.RIP

I have many childhood memories of staying with Aunt Darlene on weekends at her apartment with her little birds flying everywhere. Also, she would stay at our parents with us when they went out of town. My best memories are when me, libbe, Abby and Lisa were acting so cuckoo the way cousins do and we said we wanted to go lay in the street so she let us lol. It was super late at night. We thought she was the coolest. Also, one weekend Libbe and I recorded her snoring while she was napping on the couch. We thought it was the best prank ever. We played it back to her asking her what she thought it was. Needless to say the cassette tape disappeared that weekend haha. Thankful for those fun times with her.

Darlene was such a special person who had a smile and kind word for everyone. She came into the boys lives and loved them as her own and helped raise them into fine men today. She adored all of her grandchildren and is, no doubt in heaven with the many who have gone before her and will watch over everyone left here on earth. John will miss her terribly every hour of every day, until they meet again some day. Rest In Peace Darlene

Liggins Family Vacation to the Sequoia National Forest in 2013. It was something my dad wanted to do since he was a kid and I am so glad that Darlene was able to see experience it all with him.

I am still in disbelief. John, you are in my thoughts and prayers as are Tim, Steve and Greg and her whole family. I am thankful Darlene came into the lives of John and the boys when they needed someone like her the most. She took care of, help raise and loved them with all of her heart and more. She will be greatly missed.
