Obituary of Eric Mitchell Bowen

Eric Mitchell Bowen, 50, passed away unexpectedly at his Kalamazoo, Michigan home on July 23, 2020. He was born on July 30, 1969, to Patrick J. and Donna Jo (Mitchell) Bowen. His parents and grandparents proceeded him in death. Eric is survived by his life partner of 22 years, Kelley Callahan, and their daughter, Jo-Ona Molli Bowen, as well as stepchildren, Bethany Welker and Joshua Welker, whom he helped raise, his very close friend, Todd Long, whom he considered to be a brother, and two grandchildren, Tyler Lynn and Justin James Jr. Eric also leaves behind a half brother, Matt Bowen and many cousins in Michigan, Missouri, and Texas as well as a host of friends from all walks of life. Eric enjoyed listening to music, fishing and time in nature, as autumn was his favorite season, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Contributions in his memory can be made to Todd Long or Bethany Welker, to be set aside for his daughter's education or to the National Arbor Day Foundation.
