My heart goes out to the Motyka family. You have been in my thoughts these past several days since I heard the news. It has been an honor to know your family. Of all the people I know, there is no doubt where Mick will spend his well deserved eternity. Hope God needs a handyman. Love to your family.

Mick accepted everyone as family. I was lucky enough to know both Mick and Maralyn through my sister Anna and being part of the “crew”. I may not have been there for all of the events but when I was in their home I felt completely welcome and comfortable. Mick LOVED having the kids there and going to the events they had. He may have seemed quiet and in the corner but he would light up the conversation and the room! He always proved a loving husband embracing and expressing his love for Maralyn. I remember being over to the house on Fourth of July and talking with Mick about how proud he was of his kids and how happy he was that everyone liked to gather at the house. I believe he enjoyed every day of his life and by far made everyone around him enjoy theirs.

I remember when ever we were hanging out Lisa and we went to your house as a teenager your dad was always working on a mustang. He was always so kind and helped anyone with anything. Prayers to The Motycka family in their time of loss and may the Lord bring you comfort.

I remember spending day after day at the house. More memories than I can even write down. Playing in the hay barn, in the play house, and with the amazing trainset in the basement. I remember having to stay quiet while Mick was sleeping when he worked an off shift and him showing me how the controllers for the trainset worked. I loved spending time there and the easter egg hunt every year was legendary. We couldn’t have had better neighbors! He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go to the whole family!

For the last 17 years I have been lucky enough to have Mick as friend and basically family. Always quick to help me or my mom with a project, fixing a car, or coming up with an engineering design. My property will forever be more beautiful because of his quick skill with a bob cat. I will miss his laughter at gatherings. I will cherish every memory though. Mick may not be here on earth with us now but the legacy he leaves is bigger than life. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good......
