Obituary of Rodell Oliver
Rodell Oliver was born in Oliver (Halcyondale), Georgia to the late Edward & Viney Oliver. He was affectionately called Rodie Scodie by his loving wife. Rodell accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and loved his church family. Rodell graduated from Jackson High School in 1965 and was active in sports. Rodell worked at Commonwealth in the drafting and architecture field and at Michigan Holdings, he was self-employed serving many in the Jackson community until his health began to decline. He followed his brothers by becoming an entrepreneur. Having been taught love, he exemplified love toward his family, friends and anyone he came in contact with. He was a good person to be around because of his gentle spirit, wisdom and humor.
Rodell was preceded in death by his brothers, Elward & Raleigh Oliver. He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 27 years, Alberta (Davis) Oliver, Children; Andre (Skip) Ridley Oliver, of Lansing, MI, Stacey Oliver McConley, of Lawton, OK, Karinn Davis, Keisha Davis, Keiton Davis, Koronnis (Sheenita) Davis, Shakanna (Kenneth) Blake and Nacoya (Jason) Weatherspoon all of Jackson, MI. Brothers: Wendell (Hattie) Oliver, Lynard (Lubertha) Oliver, James B. Oliver all of Jackson, MI, Sisters: Wilhelmena (George) Byrd of Jacksonville, FL, Wilmotine Oliver and Janet (Robert) Nichols of Kalamazoo, MI; Sister in laws; Marie Oliver, Ellajene Oliver, a host of grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces and nephews, great - great nieces and nephews along with two special God Children, Dedra Peoples and John Parker Jr.
