Obituary of Leroy Palmer

Leroy Palmer, age 84 died at Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, on Friday, October 26, 2018.

Born on January 13, 1934 in Patmos Hempstead Arkansas, to James Artis Palmore of Hope Arkansas and Rosezetta Burns of Patmos Arkansas.  He settled in Kalamazoo Michigan in 1944 and worked at Miller-Davis Company as a specialist cement finisher assigned to finish custom designed patios and other cement work. He worked as a highly skilled finisher until retiring in 1970’s.  Leroy’s meticulous nature reflected in his style of dress and other projects that required precision. Leroy played piano as a teenager and a strong interest in custom cars and enjoyed bicycling.  As a youngster, in Patmos, he was known as a creative jokester. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Artis Palmore and Rosezetta Burns, siblings Chester Lee Palmer, Henry Wilson “Sam” Palmore, Ruby Jewell Palmore and children Dianna Lynn Palmer and Robin Denise Palmer.  

Surviving are: Cleophia “Joe” Palmore, James Charles Palmore and Alexander Palmore, 2 daughters Pamela Dean Palmer and Rudean Palmer, 6 sons Rodney Gene Palmer, Damon Palmer, Kenneth Artis Palmore, Jeffery Allen Palmore, Tracy Johnson and Terry Johnson, 4 aunts Lula Mae Taylor, Lucille Carter, Zelma Sykes, Ethal Palmore.
