Obituary of Brian Lee McCoy

"McCoy, Brian Lee, of Comstock, MI, passed away at the age of 48 on Thursday morning, September 6, 2018 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on August 30, 1970 in Lansing, MI, the son of Gerald & Pamela (Ward) McCoy. 

He spent most of his career in the service industry working for Disney World, Orkin, Rain Soft, Lounsbury Excavating, various apartment complexes in Florida & Michigan and McCoy's Honey Do This.  He enjoyed interacting with people and was passionate about building things. His favorite things included football, the Marvel & DC Comic franchise and tinkering in the garage. Above all else, he loved and was so very proud of all his children.

Surviving are his fiancée, Lorie Sue Kelly of Portage/Comstock, his three children: Joshua L. McCoy and  Zachary B. McCoy of Kalamazoo and Grace E. McCoy of Florida; three grandchildren: Lyle, Kalia and Evan; mother and dad: Pamela and Bob Delaney of Kentucky; sister: Dawna McCoy of Florida; Uncles: Bruce and Bob Ward and Randy McCoy; Aunts: Phyllis and Debby McCoy and cousins: Rob Ward and Amy (Ward) Wright. Preceding him in death were his father, Gerald Lee McCoy and his beloved “pa-pa”, Robert Ward and grandmother, Joan.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place with private family memorials. Brian’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
