Obituary of Clyde White
Our beloved Clyde White made his transition July 8. 2018 at 12:40pm at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mr. White was born June 8, 1955 in Brookhaven, MS to the late Robert Paul (R.P.) and Josephine (Porter) White. Clyde was the fifth child of seven.
Clyde accepted Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MI. In 1975 Clyde relocated to Kalamazoo, MI where he joined the United States Army and severed from 1978 to 1982 when he was honorably discharged. Clyde was a sharp-shooter and grenade specialist. Clyde graduated from Loy Norrix High School, post-graduation Clyde worked for the United Postal Office and Summit Polymers.
Clyde loved to bowl, spend time with family and friends and give back to his community. Clyde was a member of Ministry with Community and the Gospel Mission. Clyde continued his journey with Christ at First United Baptist Church under Pastor Bell and later relocated his membership to Galilee Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Michael T. Scott.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Robert Paul and Josephine White, two brothers Johnnie and Robert James White and step-sister Minister Kimberly Singleton.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Ronnell Jones of Tacoma, WA and Izaiah White of Kalamazoo, MI; one daughter Charity Munger of Paw Paw, MI; one granddaughter Maya Pratt of Paw Paw, MI; four children in love, Jermaine Baldwin, James and Bennie McCoy all of Kalamazoo, MI and Derrick Jones of Tacoma, WA; two sisters Anniebell (Samuel) Wilcher of Bogues Chitto, MS and Sharon (George) Buchanan of Kalamazoo, MI; two brothers Bobby (Joyce) White of Flint, MI and Sammie White of Kalamazoo, MI; step-mother Kathy White; two step-sisters Cynthia and Patricia Haynes of Kalamazoo, MI; three step-brothers Obed Haynes, Raymond Haynes and Herman (Tonette) Ford of Kalamazoo, MI; best friend Bill McCormick; special God-parents Pearl and Lonnie O’Large; a special niece Hayvn that he affectionately called “fat fat;” a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Clyde leaves us with his favorite phrase, “two wings to fly away.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him!
