Obituary of John Dale Echols

John Dale Echols, 63 of Kalamazoo, Michigan, quietly departed this life and went to be with the Lord, July 4, 2018. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 24, 1954, the son of John Robert Echols and Indiana (Holt) Echols.  He attended the Kalamazoo Public Schools and Western Michigan University.

John Dale Echols was employed by Fizer and retired after working there for 34 years. John Dale at an early age professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Church of Christ, where he served as an assistant to the Elder, Sunday school bus driver, Sunday school teacher and usher.  John Dale Echols also was a security guard at Borgess Hospital.  He served as the bodyguard for Muhammad Ali during his visit at Borgess Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his father John Robert Echols, mother Indiana Holt Echols brother Robert Lee Echols, and sister Donna Kaye Townsell. His wonderful life will forever will be cherished in the life of his son, Khari Collins, siblings; brother RL Echols (Charmane), sister Anna Belle Carter, brother Larry Echols and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
