Cleveland Beville

Obituary of Cleveland Beville

On Saturday, March 10, 2018 the Lord's angel came and led the spirit of our loved one to a land that's free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death.

Cleveland "Wesley" Beville was born on July 3, 1939, the seventh of ten children born to the late Tom A. Beville, Sr. and Cora Lee Beville in Sumter County Alabama. Cleveland graduated from Bucks Chapel Junior High School in 1957. He left his birthplace and moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1959. He began working at the Pre-Con Corporation in 1960 and remained there for 36 years before retiring in 1998.

Cleveland was very passionate about many sports but especially baseball, a sport in which he actively participated in through the years. He also an avid spectator, travelling to both Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers baseball games. He would often grab his baseball mitt and head over to Kalamazoo Kings baseball games just to see if he could catch some fouls balls (of which he caught many). Traveling was also another great passion, as he would often head to his home state of Alabama to visit friends and family. He was also front and center at family events, enjoying laughs and good times with family.

Cleveland was married to Jeanette Beville and they became parents to two children.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Cora Lee Beville. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: William Beville, Tom Beville, Jr. and Ruby L Spencer.

Cleveland's memory will be remembered and cherished by his family and friends. He leaves to celebrate his life his children: Shannon Beville and Jason Beville of Kalamazoo, MI; 6 siblings: Mrs. Mary Greenfield of Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. Maggie Miller and Mr. Theodore Beville of Kalamazoo, MI; Bishop Roosevelt (Dorothy) Beville of Caledonia, MI; Mr. Johnny (Betty) Beville of Hope Hull,  AL;  Mrs. Carma Jiles of Mobile, AL; 2 sisters-in-law: Mrs. Essie Beville of Mobile, AL and Mrs. Ann Beville of Kalamazoo, MI; 3 grandchildren,  Danielle Beville,  Jason Beville,  Jr. and  Jalen Smith of  Kalamazoo,  MI; one great-grandchild, Nasir Wesley Beville of Kalamazoo, MI; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives (Della Stephens, Annie Lee Bell and Michael Thomas) and friends.
