Obituary of Kevin Brian Gant
Mr. Kevin Brian Gant passed away Friday afternoon, February 5, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. Mr. Gant was born January 29, 1954 in Paw Paw, Michigan. He was the eldest son of Calvin Gant and Patricia Ann Bradley-Gant.
Kevin built a legacy on the importance of family and friends by maintaining a strong committed relationship with those he loved and deeply cared about. He was a creative and gifted artist who created timeless art that continues to be enjoyed by many today. His passion was sports, nicknamed the “GOAT” and “Henry Bippy” because of his sweet jumper shot and natural ability to crush the backboard. He demonstrated high work ethics accomplishing a successful career in the transportation, retail and technology Industries in various cities including Dayton, OH, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL before returning to reside in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a kind, humorous, gentle soul who was loved by many. Our world will truly miss the presence of Mr. Kevin Gant a man of many talents. Farewell to a devoted father and grandfather who loved his son and granddaughter dearly, had much love for his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, and friends!!
He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Gant, his mother Patricia Ann Bradley-Gant, and his son Terrell Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his granddaughter, Rellisha Jackson; sisters, Brenda Moncrief, Catherine Gant-Idahosa (Don) all of Kalamazoo; brothers, Ron Gant, Chris Gant (Aisha), Stephen Gant all of Houston, TX; Michael Gant of Kansas City, Kansas; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
