Obituary of Marcus Eugene McKinney, Sr.

Marcus Eugene McKinney Sr. was born August 31, 1938 and departed his life on January 4, 2018. Marcus was the seventh child to M.C. and Verlene (Sission) McKinney both preceded him in death.

Marcus attended Jackson Public Schools and joined the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge. He worked at Hayes Albion and retired after 30 years. After retirement he was employed at Battle Creek Honda for several years.

Marcus enjoyed fishing, roller skating, doing handyman work for his family and friends and dedicated to his church, Holy Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a faithful servant.

Marcus leaves to cherish his wife, Jammie L. (Lawler) McKinney. Three sons, Ronald (Sherry), Marcus Jr. (Tilar), Mark (Rachel) and Bully. Three daughters Marquetta (Phillip), Tina and Sabrina (Don). His sisters Donna, Pokey Mary and Dora. One sister-in-law Janice (Allen) White, one brother-in-law James Lawler, a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews. Special friends, Elaine McKinney, Kenny Colen and William (Ophelia) Floury.

Marcus was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
