Obituary of Ollie Rean Stegall
Ollie Rean Ransom Stegall passed away on December 30, 2017, in Galesburg, Michigan. She was born October 4, 1936, to parents, Roddie Ransom and Jessie Bell Hayes Ransom, in Shubuta, Mississippi. She moved to Kalamazoo Michigan in 1956 where she lived with her uncle and his wife and shortly met and married Gentrel Stegall in 1959, (1981), to this union was born 5 boys, Charles E. Stegall, Nathaniel Stegall, Perry E. Stegall, Timothy L. Stegall, and Tommy O. Stegall.
Ollie accepted Christ into her life at an early age under Pastor Jack McCrey of Lozine Baptist Church in Shubuta, Mississippi. She was born into holiness in the seventies, under the leadership of Pastor Bishop T. D. Lockett, at Faith Temple Church of God.
Ollie was employed at Shakespeare from 1973 to 1980, and then she worked for Borgess Medical Center from 1982 to 2004 where she retired. Most everyone in the hospital knew her, and they would always say she was the kindest and sweetest lady they ever met.
Ollie was known for praying for the sick, for her dancing, and praising God while listing to her gospel music. Her energetic spirit will be greatly missed here on earth, but heaven has gained our Praiser.
Ollie is preceded in death by her parents, Sons, Charles Stegall and Timothy Stegall, Brothers, Lynch, Silas Ransom, Sisters, Maggie Ransom-Nelson, Coretta Ransom, Carrie Ransom Walker.
Ollie leaves to cherish her memory, Sons: Perry (Valerie), Nathaniel (Marion), and Tommy Stegall of Kalamazoo; Grandchildren, Cakneeshia Stegall of Kalamazoo, Samantha (Marcus) Denmon of Dallas, Tx, Brittany Plair, of LV, Nakia Stegall, Taniesh Stegall, Tia Marie Fennessee, Felice Marie Stegall, Dendra (Chana) Walker, of Kalamazoo, Shanequa Cooper of Milwaukee, WI, Bridgett Wiksten of Boston, MA, Tommy Stegall Jr, Ci’on Gund, Tishuan Cooper all of Kalamazoo. Great Grandchildren; Amara, Terra, Nohra Wiksten, Ciarah Gund, Jordyn, Jailynn, Jaidyn, Jonah Thomas, Calvin Jr, Cha’Nya Watson, Tre’Quan, Mar’Shaun Murphy. Special niece Linda Wright, and Special Nephews, Luther and Albert Nelson.
