Obituary of Raymond Alan Krontz

Raymond Alan Krontz left his earthly home on December 3, 2017 after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.  He was an amazing example of strength and courage to his love ones.

Ray was born Sept. 8, 1962, the youngest of 8 children, born to Leslie (Jake) Krontz & Nancy (Fisher) Krontz.  He lived most of his life in the Burr Oak area, where he resided with his beloved wife, Susan (Keen) Krontz.   Ray & Susan joined their lives and their families on August 20 of 2005.

Ray's first love was always his family, his friends and his two pups, Kirby & KC.  Next he loved racing and was an avid racer himself in his younger years. This was followed by his love of his favorite football team, The Lions.  He also enjoyed having friends and family over for BBQ's, riding around Burr Oak with his wife and two pups in their golf cart and his work.

Ray was a diesel mechanic and at the time of his passing and  was employed by Shimp Excavating of Bronson, MI.  He loved his job and the people he worked with and considered them all as his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Jake Krontz, a nephew, Jacob, his step-son, Dustin Chamblee, 2 brother-in-laws and several aunts & uncles.  Survivors include his wife, Susan Krontz, of Burr Oak,  son, Ryan Krontz (Autumn) of LaGrange,IN,  son Kristopher (Tiffany) of Bronson,MI, step-son Daniel Chamblee of Roseburg, OR.  Grandchildren include:  Keegan, Dylan, Collin, Keyera, Leeona, Ambria, Athena, Daytona, Layne, Kayden, Taylor, Bailey, McKienze, Trista, Brianna, Lilly, Maddison, & great grandson Isaiah.  Siblings include Mary Jo Siler (Garry),Debbie Falkenstein (Don), Leslie Ortiz, Susan Middleton (Dean), Linda Furbush (Dan), Ellen Vanderzwaag (Bill),and brother Art Krontz (Cindy) along with numerous cousins, Mother In Law, Patricia Keen, sister in law, Nancy Edwards, sister in law, Sharon Hoeye and many cherished friends.

The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nursing staff of Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, who did everything  in their power to treat our loved one with love, respect, care & dignity through this.

Please join us in a celebration of Ray's life on Dec. 30, 2017, at 1:00 P.M., at the Church of Christ  901 N. Lakeview Ave. Sturgis, MI  49091.  We would be honored to have you join us in a meal following the service so that the celebration of his life may continue, and we look forward to hearing your memories of this beloved man.

Private interment will be done at a later time, with just immediate family, at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, MI.
