Obituary of Micah Christopher Lee Polk

 

Micah Christopher Lee Polk (biggy) departed this life on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on Monday, April 15, 1974, in Battle Creek, MI. to his parents Ocie Marie Polk and David Miller. Micah attended and graduated from Creston High School in Grand Rapids, MI. While in school, he played four years of high school football and was in the high school band.  Micah also participated in other high-school related programs.  He continued his education at Kellogg Community College where he student Basic Education. Micah worked several types of jobs during his life. From security to retail, to cook. He worked several years at Mr. Don's and Applebee's in Battle Creek before his health conditions prohibited him. He loved sports especially basketball and football. He even spent time coaching Little League football for several years after high school. Micah enjoyed traveling; listening to hip-hop and rap music, dancing, and singing.  He possessed a great love for cooking and entertaining people with his charm and charisma. Gatherings were often experiences Micah would attend and create for family and friends. When it came to food, Micah loved to barbecue and created meals that he would showcase his love of food to family and friends. Micah was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes at age18, but he did not allow this disease to stop his experiences, even with all the setbacks he still managed to live his life to the fullest. Micah leaves to celebrate and honor his life journey, his siblings: Frederick Polk of Grand Rapids, MI., David Miller Jr.(Rose) of Battle Creek, Michigan, Felicia Miller (Gromyko Sr.) of Decatur, Georgia. DeVon Miller (Angela) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Chandrea Miller Powell (Raymond) of Chicago, Illinois, Makisha Miller of Lansing, Michigan, Schnika Miller of Sandy Springs, Georgia; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of close friends. He is preceded in death by her parents Ocie M. Polk and David Miller, sister Shaloam Polk, grandparents Rozella Polk and Leo Polk. Although Micah’s has departed for this life and his earthly suffering is no more; he will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
