Kemba Collins-Word

Obituary of Kemba Aderol Collins-Word

Ms. Kemba A. Collins-Word, peacefully departed this life on the evening of May 29, 2017 surrounded by her family.  Kemba accepted Christ at an early age.  She was born to the loving parents of Bobby Word and April Lynn Collins, on May 16, 1976.

Kemba had the ability to leave a smile on your face with her bigger than life personality.  She was creative and passionate about her beliefs.  She held her head high with dignity and grace.

She taught us the power of forgiveness, strength, courage, and determination.  Kemba accomplished many things, like obtaining her associates degree in business at Davenport University.  She surpassed her goals and dreams.  Kemba loved to write poems and drawing was a gift that she had since an early age.

Kemba was preceded in death by her father Bobby Word, paternal grandparents Henry and Rosie Lee Word; maternal grandparents Ervin and Geraldine Collins.  She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her mother April L. Word (Richard Williams, III), sister Cheia Collins, and Lovenia Renee Williams; beloved daughter Lynneisha Desiree Jackson; granddaughter Princess Lashay Johnson; nieces: Reazen Ke’Lynn Smith, London Berry; nephews: Shayvione Berry and Aquaron Berry and her longtime companion of many years, Mr. Larry Echols, special cousin Khari D. Collins and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.  Although Kemba has departed this life she will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
