Obituary of William Alton Shive

On March 10, 2017, William Alton Shive Sr. passed away after a long-battled illness. William was born in Goshen, IN on August 5, 1942 to Juanita Long and Richard Shive. William was survived by five children all of Battle Creek, William A. Shive Jr. (Lisa J. Shive), Mark A. Shive, Anthony W. Shive, Angela L. Shive, and Lori A. Shive, and closest friend, Marion J. Shive (ex wife). Also surviving are four brothers, Donald Shive, Richard Shive, Terry Shive, and John Shive, and four sisters, Angela Norton, Jean Millsap, Robin Woods, and Tina Burton, ten grandchildren, along with eight great grandchildren. William attended Battle Creek Central High School and served in the US Navy. He was employed at Clark Equipment. He enjoyed his family, watching sports, swimming (breaking records in breast stroke), gambling, golfing, bowling, baseball, going to races, and playing billiards. He was an avid Detroit Lion fan
