Obituary of Rosetta Ford
Rosetta Ford was the daughter of Will and Henrietta Moore Thomas. She was born in Clarksdale MS on October 8, 1926. She was the eldest of eight children. Rosetta passed away on February 6th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Rosetta was self-employed as a domestic worker, food service, and resale. She attended school in Mississippi. With her children in tow she left the South in 1962 for a better life for her children. Rosetta enjoyed gardening, traveling, and reciting poetry. She also for a time lovingly cared for her sisters children: Lucy, Beverly, RC and Lawrence. She had special affection for her cousin, Anna Mary.
In November of 1976 Rosetta was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She took pleasure in sharing bible truths with others, although she was very shy.
Memories will be forever cherished by her eight daughters: Jane, LaDora, Dorothy (William), Wanda (Luis), Brosie, Cora (Andrew), Vivian and Sharon (Charles); Seven sons: Terry, John (Brenda), Marty (Kellie), Travis (Barbara), Floyd, Gabriel (Sheila), Willie, a brother Robert (Blanche); 3 sisters-in-law, Nancy, Rose and Bettie. Rosetta has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Will, four brothers, Poindexter, Booker T, Edward Charles, and Willie James; two sisters, Luella and Lena and one son Clarence Sr.
