Obituary of Ronald Gene Beals
Galesburg-Ronald G. Beals, 82 passed at his home on 4/13/23 from cancer, where he was very well taken care of by Centrica of SW MI, a special thank you to Robert, his nurse, and Christa, his aide. He was born October 19, 1940, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Fordyce and Geraldine (Lewis) Beals.
Ron graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, class of 1959. Following graduation, he started his career with Kalamazoo Public Safety in 1967 in the fire department and later was in the first class of firemen that were crossed trained to police in Kalamazoo. Following retirement in 1994 he began working doing Maintenance for Steinegle and Associates for another 23 years. He married Mary Kay Allison on July 6, 1985, and they settled in the Kalamazoo/Parchment area. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gene, and a sister, Evelyn.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary Kay (Allison) Beals, are his sons Chris Beals of Kalamazoo, David Beals and his wife Flora of Edmond, OK, Patrick Beals and his wife Theresa of Plainwell, Chad Rynd of Kalamazoo, his daughter Ashlee (Beals) Bowling of Galesburg, and his grandsons, Tyler and Corey Frazier of Kalamazoo, Dakota and Troy Bowling of Galesburg, and Alex Beals of Plainwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2 pm at the Eagles Lodge 1332 Branch St. Kalamazoo, MI 49001. Those who wish to make gifts in his memory can donate to cancer, autism, or addiction research.
