Obituary of Douglas Kirk Haley

Douglas Kirk Haley – known as “Bly” passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his home. He was born in Benton Harbor, MI on January 6, 1958, to his parents Samuel James Haley and Bertha Bea Lloyd.

Douglas attended Benton Harbor Area Schools. He was a licensed auto mechanic and was self-employed as a mechanic for most of his life until, due to his health, he wasn’t able anymore.

Douglas was a sharp dresser and he loved clothes. He was funny and had a sarcastic sense of humor. After battling health issues he passed on March 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents – Samuel James Haley, Bertha Bae Lloyd, and his nephew Stephen Nakia Haley.

He leaves behind his children: Douglas (Ron Ron) Taylor, Douglas (Dee Dee) Norwood, Kia Norwood, Shenique Norwood, Crystal Norwood, Jonathon Norwood, Danisha (Nee Nee) Gatewood, and Daynen Haley. He also leaves behind a brother and sisters: Darren Lloyd, Valerie (Vicki) Nolen, Sandra Cornelius, Lenora Haley, and Daphne Gilmore, 16 Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
