Kevin Jeffries, Sr.

Obituary of Kevin Wesley Jeffries, Sr.

Celebration of Life

Kevin Wesley Jeffries, Sr., passed away suddenly on March 7, 2023, at his home. Kevin was born July 15, 1974, to Jacqueline (Singer) Jeffries-Mitchell and John Johnson, Sr. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Kevin attended Kalamazoo Central High School and worked for Checkers Motor, Pro Co Sound Inc, and JBS. Kevin loved his family and friends. He was an above avid bowler playing in many leagues. He enjoyed fishing, roller skating, and going to car races but he truly LOVED partying with family and friends. He would dress to impress at all times. Sunglasses, caps, and toothpicks were always part of his attire. Even cutting the grass, he was seen at his best!

Above all things, he loved to bar-b-que. Kev’s B’Que was well known and eaten by many. Winter or Summer, he would have that big grill smoking!

Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jeffries, Jr., his step-fathers, Robert Jeffries, Sr., and Jack Mitchell; his maternal and paternal grandparents, niece Leila N. Clopton and first cousin Robert “Cakeman” Williams, Jr.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Jackie Jeffries; and father John Johnson, Sr.; Children: Kevin Jeffries, Jr., Tranisha Stevenson, DeQuayveon Huntley, Sr., Jaquana “Itty” Jeffries, Kennedy Jeffries-Fields, Azshia Steele, Ryan-Kevin Jeffries, Taraji Jeffries, DeOntate Phillips, and Curshaya Shepard all of Kalamazoo.
