Obituary of Jaquan Jabrea West
Jaquan J. West, 22, of Battle Creek, passed away on February 24, 2023.
Jaquan was born on February 21, 2001, to Tieasha Oliver and Jeremy West in Battle Creek, MI. Jaquan graduated from Battle Creek High School in 2020, where he enjoyed playing football and the fellowship with
his team.
Jaquan was preceded in death by his mother, Tieasha Oliver; his maternal grandfather, Kelvin D. Hightower Sr, and grandmother, Christine Oliver; his paternal grandmother, Martha West; his paternal great-grandmother, Eddie Mae Gray; and his maternal aunt, Nikki Oliver.
He is survived by his father Jeremy (Becki) West; brothers and sisters, Jaden West, Jayla West, Je’Myriona West, Ke’Myrion West, Amealion Andrews, Janiah West, Daquan Young, Tyion Mitchell, Onysti Mitchell, Aaron Buie, Paul Salazar, Jessica (Anthony) Salazar, Megan (Brady) McNees, Kendrel Hightower, Khalil Hightower, Kenneth J. Hightower, Kenneth Lott, Elijah Hoover, and Cheyenne Watson; his paternal grandfather, Leslie Irby; uncles and aunts, DeWayne (Tenisha) Hightower, Jerry Dotson, Robert Blythe, DeMarco Fisher, Delano Oliver, Shenequa Cook, Tawana McNutt, Sharon (Carl) Ragland, Andrea Gaines-Cathey, LaQuesha (Michael) Love, Valerie Hightower, Kenneth D.Hightower, Sr, Dontay (Kayla) Banks, Jenette Lee, and Robert Lee; as well as special women in his life, Jennifer Grigsby, Keyana Swift, Laurena Norton, and Elizabeth Gordon; his nephews and nieces.
In Jaquan’s life, there have been those that had a deep impact into the man that he had become, and we would like to take special notice of his Auntie Shanequa, Auntie Tenisha, Auntie Valerie H., Uncle Delano, Uncle K-Roc, Auntie Michelle, Auntie Jennifer, and Auntie Tawana Smith. Especially his Uncle DeWayne “Weezy”, he was there for Jaquan throughout his life to guide him, love him, and support us in raising him as his own.
There are countless others that loved and cared for Jaquan that it would be near impossible to list everyone, please know that the family appreciates your love and support of him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to assist with funeral and burial expenses.
