Dear Pastor, Sis. Maryann, and family
Please know that our love and thoughts are with you and your family during this time. Mother Lavender was a beautiful Sister in the Lord and her legacy will live on into eternity.
We thank and praise the Lord for her, and how she has ministered to our family over the years. She will be missed, but praise God we will see her again someday.
Hold on to the precious memories and the promises of God to see you through. This is not goodbye, it is until we meet again. Praise God this is a homegoing, and someday you will see her again.
Until that time it is our prayer that the God of all comfort will provide for your every need.
Love, Bro. Lorenzo, and Sis. Shirley Herbert.
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

I would like to extend my condolences to the Lavender family. Sister Lavender was my role model as I assisted her in the youth Sunday School class for 1 year at Community Baptist Church while I was a medical student at CWRU in Ohio in the late 1970s. She encouraged me in many ways. I am forever grateful that she was a part of my life.

Family we want to extend our deepest condolences to you all.
Sis/ Mother Bernice was so lovely inside and out. She had such an amazing Godly Spirit that surrounded her , a bright smile and a loving embrace. We were so blessed to have known her. I remember her as being a strong Prayer Warrior and a Believer in Jesus Christ. She somehow sensed that my heart was heavy . We never discussed why. She would send me cards of encouragement . She somehow knew that I was waiting for an answer to a prayer request.
She sent me a card with Gods answer printed inside the card just in time for me.
We will miss her .
