Obituary of Edward Lewis Steimla

Edward Lewis Steimla, born to Harold Sylvester Steimla and Gladys May Drake on March 19, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Mi passed away on December 31, 2022 at age 71. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Beatrice Dawn Ross Steimla, his children Arthur Lawrence Steimla of Battle Creek, Wendy Irene (Ben) Crowe of Paw Paw, Benjamin Levi Steimla of Paw Paw, Edward Lewis Steimla jr (Rachel) of Kalamazoo, 13 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.

Ed held many positions during his life time.  His favorites were school bus driver, the farmers market. Many children and adults will remember him playing Santa for over 50 years. 

People will remember him for his friendliness and outgoing personality. He never met a stranger. He was very generous with his time, always kind and willing to share anything with anyone. He would  strike up a conversation at any time with anyone. His children will tell you that he could walk into an empty house, have a conversation with the wallpaper & come away knowing something new. 

He was a faithful member of the church of Jesus. Christ of Latter-day Saints for almost 50 years. He served in many positions, his favorite of which was teaching the 8 year old primary children. 

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and many will continue to remember his influence & example of the best of humanity
