Obituary of Robin Lucille Mihalek

Robin Mihalek, 65, of Parchment MI, passed away on December 24th, 2022, after an arduous battle with chronic health issues.

Robin was born on February 11, 1957, to Duane and Florence Cummins in Kalamazoo MI. She was the youngest of three children. During her adolescent years, Robin cultivated a love for horses and spent much of her time horseback riding.

While Robin’s family lived on the south side of Kalamazoo, she attended Millwood Middle School and Loy Norrix High School.

In 1972 Robin met Frank Mihalek. They were married in 1978 and went on to have two daughters, Marcie and Nina. She began attending the Church of God in 1988. The Mihalek family remained faithful members active in service. Robin spent a considerable amount of time volunteering at the church in numerable ways, however, loved her work as treasurer until her health declined.

Robin went on to obtain her high school diploma at age 37 from Parchment. She worked at MidWest Fasteners, for over 10 years. During her tenure, she was promoted to the Manager of Customer Service.

Robin is survived by her husband Frank, daughters Marcie and Nina Mihalek, her sister Paulette Cummins, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Flo Cummins, and her parents in love, Wendell(Bill) and Annie Mihalek, and her brother Jeffrey Cummins.

Memorial service will be held at Family Worship Center 5841 East H Ave, Kalamazoo 49048 on Thursday, January 19th with a visitation starting at 11:00 am, service at 12:00, and luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help with final expenses.
