Obituary of Dr. Leonard Charles Balunas, Jr.

BALUNAS – Leonard C. Balunas, Jr. aged 81, of Marshall and Jackson, died peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2022.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Balunas in 2020. Surviving are his children, Mary (Jeff) Breen, of Kalamazoo; step children, Ryan (Jamie) Edwards of Schoolcraft, Debbie (Alan) Luke of Parma; his brother Robert (Cheryl) Balunas of Port St. Lucie, FL; and several grandchildren.

Len attended the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned his Doctorate.
Dr. Balunas, Ph.D. worked in Jackson in private practice for most of his professional career as a psychologist. He continued to help people as a psychologist for the State of Michigan in Lansing as well as for LifeWays in Jackson. Len, as his family and friends called him, was an avid golfer, loved to read and spend time with family. Burial will be in Lyon Lake Cemetery in Fredonia Township at a later date.
