Obituary of Terretha Elizabeth Walker
Terrethre Elizabeth Walker was born in Honea Path South Carolina to the late Arthur and Beualah Johnson Bobo. Her early education was in Abbeville and Anderson South Carolina school districts earing her bachelor’s degree from Allen University in Columbia South Carolina. She studied at Wayne state, Western Michigan and received her master's from Eastern Michigan University in education She worked as a teacher in Anderson South Carolina, and Detroit Michigan, and retired from Kalamazoo school systems after 30 years of service.
Terrether enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, bowling, and traveling. She loved working with the youth groups in the area. She also was involved in Sunday school and vacation bible school and the youth choir at First United.
She was married to Arizona Shannon and blessed with two children. She was preceded in death by daughter Lynette Shannon-Herren, husband George Walker, seven brothers Roscoe, Cuneal, Wilson, Ezell, Wallace, and Johnson Bobo. Three sisters: Mary Jones, Lavonia Jenikin, and Minnie Brown. She leaves her memories to her son Paul Shannon stepdaughters Shelia Grindatti of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Rosemary Walker of Michigan, one sister in-law Constina Bobo several grands and great-grands Miles and Mason Shannon, Gena Grindatti and Carmen Grindatti and step-grands Alex and Travis Greenburg. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
