We pause today to shed a tear in the memory of the one loved so dear Mrs. Bennie (Jean) Trotman. Our matriarch went to be with the lord on October 20th, 2022, at her home with family around her bedside. Jean was born on January 7th, 1942, in union city Tennessee to Katherine & Paul Fry sr. She attended her early education in Kentucky, also finishing in South Haven Michigan. She then moved to Kalamazoo in the late 50’s where she lived until 1976 then shortly after she moved to Flint Michigan with her late Husband Sam Trotman and their children. Jean and her family became members of El-Bethel Missionary Baptist church in 1985 until.

Jean loved Family and to be surrounded by people she loved. She loved playing Bingo and scratching off tickets. She loved to garden flowers, listen to music, play cards, and dance..Her Family is what she took pride in the most! She would always say her children and grandchildren were her joy and enjoyed her great-grandchildren even more. 

Jean was preceded in death by her late Husband Sam Trotman, her son’s Rickey L. Langston & Todd C. Trotman. Her parents Katherine & Paul Fry sr. Her Sisters Clementine & Sue, One Brother Herb Brown (Budda Rooster) along with a host of other family members. 

She leaves to cherish her memories of her children Frank, Rodney and Tammieterrell  Trotman of Kalamazoo. Kimberly/Sammy Guy also of Kalamazoo MI. Her Brothers Paul & Raynard of Kalamazoo MI. Four Sisters, Beverly/Bruce, Thelma, Cheryl, and Theresa/Mike Brown of Kalamazoo MI 32 Grandchildren, 37 Great grandchildren,1great great grandchild. Her Foster children, Walter, Louise, Shirley, Pokey/Mrs.Pokie all of Kalamazoo MI. 2 Aunts Jean Jones and Lisa Jones of Kalamazoo MI. Special sisters Lorraine (Lo) Sims, and Odessa Pratt of Kalamazoo MI. Jean Stacker of Flint MI.

Special Nieces and Nephews of Chicago Ill. Honorary son’s Marvin Fraction of Kalamazoo MI Andre Robinson of Flint MI. Honorary Brother Rev. Danyiel Griffin of Flint MI. Special Cousins Diane and Johnnie Hollin of Kalamazoo MI. Bingo Buddies Joanne Caper and Louise Williams. A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. Jean will be missed by everyone that knows her. For she was known and loved by many.
