Mr. Robert John Henry Brooks departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Battle Creek, MI. He was born to the late Reverend Moses and Minnie (McDonald} Brooks March 24, 1939, in Mounds Villa Ridge, Illinois John attended Attucks public schools, moving to Battle Creek Michigan in 1975 and received a paralegal certificate from The University of Michigan.

 
John was motivated by love discussion, world affairs, politics, and family history. John developed an interest in Dominoes, forming a team of friends to challenge each other as well as anyone that held the interest of the game. Yes, an interesting, intelligent, articulate man he was.

 
John leaves to cherish his loving memory, a son Randy Brooks, special beloved sons and daughters, Charles Shelton, James Shelton, Charlie Roywrick, Rhonda McKinnleyy, LaRoyce Fant, Terry Clark, Bertha Lewis, six grandchildren, two sister, Edna Mason, and Shirley (James)Cooper, several nieces and nephews, and a very special devoted niece, Marie (Willie) Johnson, and a host of cousins and friends.

 
John was preceded in death and now will be united with his beloved family, his parents, five sisters Florence Harris, Callie Smith, Mildred Hunter, Minnie Hall, Rosie Speller, three brothers, Moses Jr., Aaron, and Joseph Brooks.
