Obituary of Marilyn Louise Moore
Marilyn Louise Moore was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. The mortal life of our cherished Marilyn began on July 24, 1959, in River Rouge, Michigan. She was the youngest child born to Mr. Robert Jackson and Mrs. Edna Louise Jackson. Marilyn, who was lovingly called Merl, departed this life on October 7, 2022.
At an early age, Marilyn accepted Christ into her life at First Missionary Baptist Church in Ecorse, Michigan. In 1977, she proudly graduated from River Rouge High School. Immediately following graduation, she joined the United States Army where she served as a decorated marksman, earning ribbons for overseas service. Yet, her most treasured accomplishments, were her children, Kamesha and Cornel, and her grandchildren.
Marilyn faced many personal challenges as she walked this earthly plane. But, with the love and support of her family and friends, she was able to conquer her demons with courage, which served as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Marilyn spent her latter years working at the VA Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Peer Support Specialist. She also served as Chief Steward of Local 1629 at the Battle Creek Medical Center. She lived a fulfilling life in Battle Creek where she married the love of her life, Robert Earl Moore. She also found a church home with Maranatha Original Church of God, which she loved. Marilyn yearned for nothing more than to have God ultimately declare, well done good and faithful servant.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Moore; her father, Robert, and her mother, Edna Louise; her brother, Robert; her stepbrother, Ralph; and her nephew, Anton. She leaves to mourn two children whom she treasured, Kamesha (Mahmoud) and Cornel (Gabrielle); her much-beloved siblings, Keith, Carl, and Paulette; her dearly loved grandchildren, Cornel Trimble III (CJ), Kai, Carter, Amir, and Chase; her stepsons, Dale and Taheid; and her stepdaughter, Renee. Her nieces and nephews, Jozette, Carletta, Ebonyse, Antonio, Lakeitha, Carletta, Carlisima, Robert, Javon, and Chanelle; her aunt and a host of cousins; her great-nieces and her great-nephews; and her cherished friends, Tammi, Kim, Lorraine, Zelda, and Duane.
