Obituary of Judy Ann Mann

Judy Ann Mann was born to Willie Mann, Jr and Ola B. Edwards on January 10, 1959, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was the third of 5 children born to their parent's blessing. Judy's journey began unexpectedly differently compared to her siblings. Even though God had a purpose and plan for her life. Her life was stolen from her, but not her salvation. She attended the Open Door Community Church of God in Christ in Battle Creek, MI., with Bishop Eugene McCoy, as pastor. (Pastor Christopher McCoy is now pastor, New Level Church). By the grace of God, Judy was saved and received the Holy Ghost at an earlier age, along with her two loving sisters, Dorothy and Ola Mann.

But God was with Judy; he never left nor forsaken her. When her life began at the age of fourteen, she was in and out of the Battle Creek Sanitarium hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. Later, she was transferred to Kalamazoo Hospital until they closed. Judy was a resident at Rahema Foster care by Barbara Ford, 25 Terrace Ave, Battle Creek, Michigan, for about 20 years until she was transferred to a foster home in Kalamazoo. She loved to walk and enjoyed the fresh outdoor weather. She loved reading her Bible and spending precious moments with her family and cousins. Judy was Hospitalized with pneumonia at least three times during her years of living, but God brought her out.
Then later hospitalized for surgery to receive a pacemaker, hospitalized again, and hospitalized until her health declined. She loved to walk and enjoyed the fresh outdoor weather. She didn't have any hobbies. But to spend loving and precious moments with the family and cousins. She always asks about each one of her siblings every time you visit her. Judy was hospitalized with pneumonia at least three times during her years of living, but God brought her out. Then later, she was hospitalized for surgery to receive a pacemaker, hospitalized again, and hospitalized until her health declined. The Lord called her home on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the foster home care in Kalamazoo. Judy was someone special with a heart of love. Judy was a fighter!! "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith," 2 Timothy 4:7.

When she first met her brother-in-law Calvin, she named him bald-headed Calvin anytime he would come to see her. He said to her, "I love you, Judy," and she replied, "You don't love me; you love Dottie May." We all laughed. Judy was so tickled when she heard "bald-headed Calvin say, "I loved some Judy, and I'm going to miss her being so tickled and funny."

Judy leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Ola B. Mann and Willie (Ethel) Mann, Jr.; her sisters, Dorothy (Calvin)Wyrick of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Ola (Floyd) Hughes of Las Vegas; brothers Bryant P. Mann and Darrick Mann of Battle Creek, Michigan, a host of nieces, Nicole L. Mann, Quette Henderson, Stephaine King, Kelise Mann, and nephew Christopher King; Ola's grandchildren: Christian Ponciano, Nickolas Ponciano, Braylon King, Sophia King, Neeko King, Zane King, Semaj Case, Marcell Case, Ziahnna Burton, Marianna Burton, Noah Burton; sister Dorothy's grandchildren: Jasmine Warren, Juan Warren II, and Joshua Mann. A shout out to all her loving cousins from Thomaston, Georgia, Detroit, Michigan, Albion, Michigan, Battle Creek, Michigan, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. We will all miss her dearly.

Preceded in death of grandmothers, Lizzie Mann and Arzola Edwards; grandfathers Willie Mann, Sr., and Dan Edwards; her aunts: Mary Lou Mann-Smith, Timmie Edwards; uncles: Rev. Joseph Mann, Rev. David Mann, Mr. Morris Mann, and Willie Edwards; cousins: Jenny V. Perry, Freddie Perry, Willie Perry, Danny Holmes, Pat Edwards, Pat Smith, Willie Smith, Jr., and James Mann.
