Obituary of Frank Gene Carter, Jr.

Frank Gene Carter Jr. was born on Sunday, August 3, 1959, to Estella (Mason) Carter and Frank Gene Carter Sr. in Cordova, Tennessee at the John Gaston Hospital. He departed this life on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Rose Arbor Place after bravely battling cancer. 

 

He received his early education in Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Kalamazoo,  Michigan around the age of 14. He would later go on the complete his G.E.D. and several certifications for both engine repair and small engine repair. He worked for and retired from W.L. Molding in 2021.

 

He enjoyed rebuilding cars, going to car shows, and watching car shows on tv. Along with fishing, target practice, and any occasion to get dressed up. He loved all of his family. Family meant everything to him! 

 

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Gene Carter Sr. His older brother Wade "Sonny" Jackson and his older sister Barbara (Carter) Elsbury and his daughter Reeva M.Carter.

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years Cynthia (Armstrong) Carter; His four sons, James (Carey) Spencer, Michael Bates, Marcus Cruz, and Miterrion Smith. As well as his three daughters Reeva Carter, Faith Carter, and Tara (Carter) Howard.

Along with grandchildren Kal-El Spencer, Jasmine Armstrong, Runako Armstrong, Akeelah Howard, Walter Howard, Ahmad Howard, and Onyx Howard. 

He also leaves behind two brothers Charles Edward Carter, and Jerry Lee Carter; two sisters Lillian Beatrice Carter, and Bernadette Carter, and cousins that he loved like siblings; Herman Carter, Sherman Carter, Stanley Carter, Bernice Bonds, and Mary "Cookie" Saulsbury. Along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
