Obituary of Johnnie Washington

Johnnie Washington, Jr. was born in St. Louis, MO., on January 14, 1971, to his parents, Carline Stokes and Johnnie Washington Sr.  Johnnie confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age.

 

Johnnie loved spending time with his family and friends.  He worked at Metron of Kalamazoo and Ascension Borgess Hospital.  Johnnie loved working on cars and houses and even starting his own business.  He was a very hard-working entrepreneur.

 

Johnnie closed his eyes to catch his wings on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 2:20 p.m. at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, Michigan, after a long battle with cancer.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories a stepfather Sever Stokes “Pops,” his brothers Bryant Ellis, Corey (Rachel) Ellis, Sever Stokes, Jr., Sedric Stokes, and Antione Stokes; a special auntie Jeannette Holmes and four special cousins: Jerome Anderson, Raydon Henry, Crystal Harris, and Shanisha Henry; his children: Iyanna Carter, Devanta Carter, Johnnie Washington III, Jayla Washington, Jayquan Washington, Jontae Washington, Javion Washington, Jayonte Washington, Johnnie Washington IV, Janiyah Washington, Jeremiah Washington, and Johnnie Washington VI; twelve grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,  nephews, cousins, friends, and a special friend Kendra Musser,

 

Johnnie is preceded in death by his mother, Carline Stokes, and his grandparents, George, and Johnnie Mae Holmes. 

 

Although Johnnie has departed from this life, he will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
