Obituary of Dennis Edwards Dixon

Dennis Edwards Dixon, 53, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away peacefully with immediate family by his side on June 29, 2022, after a 9-month battle with cancer.  He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on April 3, 1969, to Willard and Ruby Dixon.

Dennis was loved, respected, and admired by so many. He was a kind-hearted son, father, brother, cousin, nephew, and husband.

Dennis was a hard-working, focused, and precise man. He loved installing car audio and detailed cars to perfection; if you knew him, you would never forget how funny he was.

Dennis was a wise man beyond his years. He was best known by his nicknames: “PONY BOY DENN,” “Birdman,” and “MdrnDaPlya,” and for some who knew his wife, “BeBe.”  Dennis held the master key to life. He will be missed beyond expression. We love you, Dennis, NOW, ALWAYS, AND FOREVER.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Ryan Dixon; children: Jordan (Cierra) Dixon; Dennishia Dixon, Dennasia Dixon (Dez); his parents, Willard and Ruby Dixon; siblings: Carmesha Dixon-Bell ( sister/best friend) and Tanya (Randy) S.; his grandchildren: Janiah, Eilyjah, La’Myya, and Jordan Jr. Dixon; his nephews, Michael Mckinley, III, and Jarell Dixon; his niece Marla Bracken, along with a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Dennis is also survived by seven very special great nieces and nephews. 

Dennis is preceded in death by a special uncle David Dixon, a special cousin Todd Ozier; his paternal grandparents, Willard Dixon, Sr. (6/24/1979)and Geraldine Dixon (6/28/1989); and his maternal grandparents, Cleveland and Gladys Bowden.
