Obituary of Chris Steven Bennett, Sr.
Chris Steven Bennett Sr. was born on February 15, 1961 to Andrew and Alice Marie Bennett in Kalamazoo, MI.
In 1986, Chris met the love of his life Latisha. They united in marriage on August 4, 1988. The couple enjoyed 28 years together as they grew to not only become best friends but to also become life partners. In May of 2007, Chris was baptized in the name of Jesus and became a member of New Beginning Tabernacle of Faith Church. Chris was also an active minister in training. He loved to attend bible study and Sunday school regularly. In his spare time, he enjoyed studying the bible, listening to music, and surrounding his self with the love of his family and friends.
Chris passed away on November 2, 2016 at his home. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Alice Marie (Allen) Bennett-Ware, his wife Latisha Bennett, his six sons Chris (Camille) Bennett Jr., Johnny Ellis (J.R.), Shawn (Elisha) Dunigan, Jarvis Bennett, Demetrius Bennett, and Solomon Bennett, his three daughters Turquoise (William) Bennett-Nichols, Sadiha (Michael) Brown, and Tuesday Bennett. His brothers Mark (Jauqueeta) Bennett, Victor Bennett, Charles (Kimberly) Bennett, Phillip (Duck) Bennett, Todd Bennett, his sisters Fawn Bennett, and Angel Thompson, 27 grandchildren, special friend Keisha Ramsey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is proceeded in death by his sister Mona Lewis, father and grandparents.
Chris will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his loving, uplifting spirit, his dedication to his family, as well as his willingness to spread knowledge.
