Obituary of Robert Louis Lancaster, Jr.

Robert “Bobby/Mr. Bobby” Louis Lancaster was born on August 14, 1947 in EdgeCombe County, North Carolina to the late Robert Lancaster and the late Elizabeth Barnes Lancaster. He entered the eternal life on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at home in Kalamazoo, Michigan with his wife Josie by his side. Robert received his formal education at Halifax County School System and was the proud alumni of Brawley High School class of 1965. He excelled in science, art, and dramatics. He furthered his education at Elizabeth City State University (where he joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity) and also studied at Hunter College. Robert taught at risk students in a neighborhood project in New York City and also drove limousines. Robert ended his career at Sears where he was a salesman for 16 years, ultimately retiring from there. Robert (Bobby) loved playing cards with his wife, game of choice being spades. Robert enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. Bobby loved to eat at family gatherings, and especially his daughter Renee’s fried chicken. Bobby enjoyed taking his little buddy Peanut for walks around the complex, although most of the time Peanut was doing the walking for him. Robert had an infectious smile that would brighten any room. He was a quiet man but when there was a subject that he wanted to speak on, you couldn't stop him from talking. He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife Josie Keith Lancaster of 24 years, her 2 sons Darryl Liggins (Joyce), Eugene Liggins (Lisa). 2 daughters Latricia Phillips, Rosalyn(Renee’) Pratt (Tony). 13 grandkids, 9 great grandkids. 4 sisters, Cleo, Angela, Tanya of NC; and Michelle of NY. 2 brothers Marcellus (Jimmie) and Andre' of NC. 1 Aunt Magnolia Pittman of NC. A host of other relatives and friends. We will all miss you “Bobby/ Mr. Bobby.”
