Obituary of Loyce Anne Slinglend

Loyce Anne Slinglend passed away on March 26, 2022, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on March 31, 1944. She was born in Flint, MI, to her parents, Alfred Slinglend and Beulah Hendon Slinglend. Loyce was raised in Michigan and California. Loyce attended and graduated from Andrew P Hill High School in 1962. She continued her education at Kellogg Community College, where she received her RN degree. Her nursing career lasted 40 years. She worked for the VA Hospital of Battle Creek, MI, where she became the head nurse. Loyce loved gardening, filling photo albums, and traveling. She was a loving, compassionate person. She treated everyone with respect, being patients, friends, or family. She was ready to help others even if she had to go out of her way to do so. Loyce is survived by two sisters, Rose and Rusty Palmer of Texas. Nancy Howerton of BC Canada. She had many nieces and nephews. Nancy Castillo of Temple, TX. Bethany and Michael Johnson of Hemet, CA. Orin and Nichole Howerton of BC Canada. Vanessa and Garrett Williams of BC Canada. Christian Rudnick, Courtney and Cory Castrillo, Marina and Gabriel Johnson. She is also survived by her best friend for life, Carrol T. Blair of Portage, MI.
