Obituary of Jeannie Ruth Brizendine
Jeannie Brizendine, born November 7, 1954, passed away on March 18, 2022. She grew up in
Kalamazoo, Michigan with her parents and two siblings. She spent her childhood years just playing
around the neighborhood with her friends and cousins, and spending lot of time in Alabama with her
large, extended family.
Jeannie married her first husband, Michael Rauch, shortly after graduating from Loy Norrix High School
in 1972. The two gave birth to a son, Bruce, in 1974, and divorced not long after. In 1978 she met and
married her soulmate, Randy Brizendine. Their son, Lee, was born in 1984. Randy and Jeannie remained
happily married for almost 40 years.
Most of Jeannie’s later years were spent working in various industries. In her 20s she worked in
manufacturing, in her 30s she managed a small chain of convenience stores, and from her 40s until her
retirement she worked primarily in banking. Outside of work, she loved to cook, work in her flower
gardens, and spend time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her father, Donald Webster; her mother Lina “Ruth” (Lamb); her older
brother Donald Jr.; and her husband Randy. She is survived by her son Bruce and wife Shawnee
(Harrell); son Lee and wife Jessica (Idleman); brother David; and grandchildren Carter, Lee Jr., Mason,
Christian, and Ivy; several cousins and great nieces and nephews, and one very close cousin and BFF
Linda (Lamb) Hamlin.
