Obituary of Pollie Anna Stovall

Pollie Anna Stovall of Kalamazoo MI was born on April 23rd 1943 in Portageville, MO to Peter Jackson Sr. and Ada Tanner Jackson. She was the youngest of seven children. Pollie was raised in St. Louis, MO and while there attended Dunbar Elementary before moving with family to live in Benton Harbor,MI. Pollie attended Benton Harbor High School before marrying Allen Glass and having five children. Pollie later moved to Kalamazoo MI where she met and married James Stovall. That union resulted in the birth of twins. Pollie worked at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home, Vista Business Forms, Summit Polymers. She also worked for Senior Services as a well loved senior companion. Pollie was a devoted Christian with an unwavering faith in God. She accepted Christ at an early age and was always heavily involved in church. She was a founding member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Benton Harbor Michigan. She was a member of The Good News Deliverance Center under Pastor Robert L. Buchanan Jr. . Pollie found her final church home on earth with Mt. Calvary Christian Bible Church under the leadership of Dr. Timothy Ezell in which she was a Deaconess, Usher and in the Choir. She was an encourager and member of Wailing Women on the Wall Intercessory Ministry. She loved to cook, bowling, playing golf and spending time with family. Pollie’s legacy of loving kindness will live on through her children: Lanny (Alicia ) Mccalvin, LaTonya McCray, April Glass-Edwards, Stephanie Williams, Vanessa Eason, Veronica Word, Billy (Diane) Stovall, Freddy (Pamela) Stovall, Glenda White, Shelia Kinnee-Harvey; daughters-in -law Paula Mulder-Stovall & Rita Glass; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, special daughter/ friend Debora Gutierrez, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Pollie is preceded in death by her parents, Peter Jackson Sr. and Ada Tanner Jackson, husband James Stovall, sons Gregory Glass, Eugene Stovall, Oscar Williams; siblings, Mollie Jackson-Harris, Nellie Nichols, Peter Jackson Jr., Lottie Rudley-Coleman, Clemmie Ward, and Jodie Jackson
