A Time To Die: Carole made her transition on February 28,2022
A Time To Be Born: Carole Ann Sims was born October 17,1945 in Kennett, Mo.to the late David John Henry Sims and Deborah (Welch) Sims.
A Time To Build Up: Carole received her education from Battle Creek Public School, graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1965.
From a baby Carole was raised in the Church Of God In Christ, singing in the church choir, singing solos before her father Rev. David Sims would preach the word of God, she was involved in different youth groups. At a young age Carole excepted Christ.
She was a member of Grace International Baptist Church, Detroit, MI., there she served on the Mothers Board under the leadership of Rev. Walter Allen Steen
A Time To Plant & A Time Of Laugh: In 1965 Carole married Mr. Bill Lee. Together their union brought forth 1 beautiful child. In 1969 Carole moved to Los Angeles CA, were she worked for 32 years in Nursing at Daniel Freeman Medical Center, 7 years at the VA Hospital in Long Beach, CA
2018 Carole relocated to Eastpointe, MI where she met & married Mr. Charles Garten. Together they enjoyed providing music & singing to the residents in their apartment building.
She enjoyed putting puzzles together, bowling, garage sales, puzzle books, singing, traveling, shopping, a true passion for talking (smile), Carole never met a Stanger, she knew everyone & everything!! she was a very outspoken person. Carole enjoyed spending time with her family, she enjoyed being the oldest sibling.
She lived her life to the fullest with laughter & love reminiscing of "back-in-the -day-when", playing cards, her favorite game to play was Uno, and don't try to cheat, she knew the rules by heart..
We will truly miss Carole Ann Lee.
A Time To Mourn: Carole was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Patricia Brown; Rose Sims; and Jackie Benson.

We will always cherish her in our Heart & Memories; her Husband: Charles Garten, her daughter Sabrena S. Brown of Battle Creek, MI; her sisters: Marilyn Savage of Flower Mound, TX, Janet Ferguson of Cincinnati, OH, Margaret Sims, Renee' (Steve) Sims-Irby, Sarah Sims all of Battle Creek, MI, Jeanette McCarty and Annette Usher both of Detroit, MI, and Stephanie Walker of Frisco, TX.; her brother Cecil Grantham of Odenton, MD; special Son-in-love: Eld. Timothy E. Brown of Los Angeles, CA.; grandson; Brae' LaQuincian Brown of Los Angeles, CA.; granddaughters: Brittany Cheyenne Brown and Summer Alice Brown both of Los Angeles, CA.; special sisters: Elder Brenda Tennell & Ms. Rita Johnson both of Los Angeles CA.; special cousins-in-love: The Nesbitts and host of loving nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends.
