The full version:
Forever loved and always missed.
William (Bill) D. Schallhorn, of Kalamazoo, MI, age 68, passed away of natural causes while at home on December 18th, 2021.
A celebration of life will be held December 28th, 2021, at McGonigle's Irish Pub on 3512 E. Main St. from 2-5 pm.
Bill was born on December 27th, 1953, in Kalamazoo, MI to Marilyn Wall and William Schallhorn Jr. He graduated from Parchment High School where he enjoyed wrestling and football before graduating in 1972. He went on to obtain associates training and many certificates, like engine overhaul and worked as a millwright for many years in Parchment, MI. Throughout the years Bill loved fishing trips to Canada, family gatherings, riding his Harley motorcycle, barbecues, and many bonfires. His favorite hobbies in the most recent years were being "Uncle Bill" to his four 2nd cousins as well as fishing, wine making, and gardening.
Bill was also a very loving father who through all the years of basketball, volleyball, track, tennis, cheerleading, band concerts, marching band shows and parades, only missed one middle school basketball game. He could always be found on turn 4 of the track cheering for his daughter and her teammates in the 400-meter dash and mile relay. He will also be remembered as a dad through their many outings to K-Wings games on the weekends.
He is survived by his daughter Lindsay Fry-Schallhorn of Fort Wayne, IN, his brother Philip Schallhorn, of Kalamazoo, MI and is preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Wall of Kalamazoo, MI, father William Schallhorn Jr of Battle Creek, MI, and sister Denise Anderson of Kalamazoo, MI.
Never big on the city or a crowd, his family knows he is now out of pain and finding peace fishing and planting the perfect garden somewhere on the outskirts of heaven.

Bill was a great neighbor and friend! We would always holler across from one yard to the other as there was another neighbor in between our houses. He was always happy to share his fruit and veges that he grew in his garden and I would take him some baked goods! I’m very saddened to hear of his passing but am thankful for the friendship we developed! He was a good man!
