Obituary of Henry James Moye

Henry James Moye’ Jr., 81, of Battle Creek MI, was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2016. He was born in Evergreen, AL on July 13, 1935 to Henry James and Toskia Ruth (Spivey) Moye’. Henry married his former wife Rose M. Moye’ in 1956 who who preceded him in death.Henry worked at Hayes Albion as a foreman. After retirement he proceeded with other ventures which include being a landlord in the Albion & Battle Creek area. He also was owner of Moye’s BBQ & Grill. He loved to collect cars, was an sharp pool player, immaculate dresser, advicent blues, jazz, and R&B listener. He enjoyed traveling, sitting around with family & friends sharing memories & enjoying the fruits of his labor throughout all of his hard years of work for his beloved family.Henry was also a loyal member of The BJ Bryant Elks Lodge 1311. Henry was a member of The Elks Lodge since 1997. He held multiple positions within The Elks including Exalted Ruler multiple times. He was also a member of Loyal Night, Leading Night, Board of Trustees & Member of Council 150. Henry loved traveling to multiple board meetings throughout his membership.He leaves to cherish his memory of 6 children: Larry, Kenneth, Sheila, Karen, Donita, and Brenton Moye’; siblings Helen Sims, Claude (Rose) Moye’, Minnie Pierce, Betty (Oren) Buie, William (Carol), LaVon (Dora), Gregory (Callie) & Edgar Moye’; Also 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, and a large host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
