Obituary of Micheryl Ann Peake
Miss Micheryl Ann Peake succumbed on Monday, November 22 nd 2021 at her home in Kalamazoo. She was born on September 11, 1956 in Kalamazoo Michigan, to Harold and Ada (Buchanan) Peake.
Micheryl was a student in the Kalamazoo Public School system, graduating from Loy Norrix High School in 1975. After graduation, Micheryl continued her education at Grand Valley State. After leaving Grand Valley, she enjoyed multiple career options until landing a position with the KPS Transportation department, where she drove a school bus for nearly 20 years. After leaving KPS, she began working as a caretaker for Senior Services in Kalamazoo, until retirement.
Micheryl is proceeded in death by her parents Harold E. Peake Sr. and Ada M. Peake. She is survived by her two sons: Michael and Stephen Peake, two grandchildren: Kaden and Gabriella, Sister: Patricia (Norman) Bates of Kalamazoo Michigan, Brother: Harold II (Kim) Peake of Park Forest Illinois, four nephews: Corey, Harold III, Norman and Dhakota, one niece: Ashley, three great nephews: Richard, Bryce and Brandon, one great niece: Kennedy, Aunts: Aria Buchanan and Stella Trice, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends, including her good friend Dawn Clarke.
Micheryl was a hero and inspiration to many within her community. As a driver for KPS, she was responsible for getting children to and from school safely, and she took great pride in that. Many of the children she drove to school grew up with her sons and nephews. Kids always recognized Miss Peake for her kindness, and her consistency. If you came to the Peake house, you were fed, you were active, and you were cared for. Micheryl will be greatly missed, and will forever be loved by her family and her community.
