Obituary of Jane Ellen Giggy

Jane Ellen Giggy (Rogers), 69, of Kalamazoo, MI went home to be with her Lord and savior peacefully on October 9. Jane was surrounded by her family. Jane was born in Sturgis, MI to James and Mary Rogers on June 22, 1947. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1965, and married Norris Giggy on August 21. Jane went on to earn an Associate Degree from Glen Oaks Community College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Social Work Degree from Western Michigan University. She worked as a family and child therapist for a variety of local agencies. She enjoyed spending time as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator and brought joy to people worldwide through the online community she help found for stamping enthusiasts. Jane is survived by her husband of 51 years, Norris Giggy; her three children, Dan (Maria) Giggy, Pamela Sward and Mary (Brian) Fee; her brothers Paul (Mae) Rogers and Mark (Diane) Rogers; seven adoring grandchildren, Paige Sward, Anna Sward, Sarah Sward, Rebekah Giggy, Hannah Fee, Christian Giggy and Olivia Fee; and one great grandchild, Emmett Sturgis. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Rogers. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the West Michigan Cancer Center. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the dozens of people who provided care and support during Jane’s two-year battle with cancer.
