My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Van Ravenswaay. I never met him, but reading the messages here and knowing one of the sons he raised, I can tell he was a Godly man who made the world a better place. Ken, Cheryl, and all the Van Ravenswaays, you are in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be in the days and months to come.

We have so many lovely memories of John that I hardly know where to begin...our girls grew up with John teasing them and encouraging them - he used to throw snowballs to get their attention and then have a snowball fight with them over the fence. For a time, he even watched them after school!
John was quite a salesman - we always figured John could sell a snowball in the middle of winter IF he could find a way to chain it to the tree!
And, he might not have said the words “I love you”, but his compassion and caring were always evident in his neighborly over-the-fence chatting, loaning his cart, helping neighbors - I remember his concern for me when I was pregnant with my children, and then when the girls were small and Mike was working two jobs, John plowed the driveway for me.
John always spoke lovingly of his lovely wife and children- he was truly proud of you!
John will be forever in our hearts. You have our sincere sympathy. Wishing you all God’s peace,
Robyn, Mike, Michelle & Catherine

Thoughts and prayers for the family. John was a very special friend and it was a blessing to know him. John and I met at an auction around twenty years ago. We were both interested in some musical items and thought we might be bidding against each other. From the start he had a twinkle in his eye and we soon discovered a mutual love of music. The Auction was the beginning of a long friendship and we were blessed to have John and Sharon participating in The Music Barn and also at The Master’s Feet. John will be sadly missed but rejoicing that he is whole and well in his eternal home. ❤️ Jeanne Smit
