Obituary of Sheila Renay Shaw
Life Reflection
Shelia Renay Shaw was born December 3rd 195 1in East Louis Illinois to the union of Paul Shaw Sr. and Masoline Davis. Sheila was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Patricia Ann Moore, her grandchildren Gary A. McCallister Jr. and Tatiana McCallister. Sheila is the 4th of 12 children. Sheila accepted Christ at an early age and carried her love for God throughout her entire life.
Sheila was educated in the Public School System of East St. Louis, Illinois and continued her education at Belleville Area College. Later, in life she received her Diploma in Childhood Educational Services.
Sheila relocated to Kalamazoo MI. in 1976 where she worked for the Radisson Hotel for 4 years. Following the Radisson, Sheila worked for Jakobsons Bridal Shop for numerous years. As much as Sheila loved working in hospitality, she decided to follow her passion. Sheila became a self-employer, opening her own day care where she cared for countless children.
Sheila was full of life and had a big heart, within her lifespan she modeled, traveled, she was motivating, encouraging, and uplifting. Shelia was passionate about her heritage, culture, and community. She embraced everyone as family with an open door, open ear and shoulder to lean on. Sheila was known for her family gatherings, writing poems, the mediator of the family and was everyone’s Mother, Grandmother or Aunt. Sheila loved to cook and cherished holidays, birthdays and any occasions that allowed her to spend with family and friends.
Shelia departed this cherished life on May 11th, 2021, the Lord called her home to relieve her from all pain and suffering. Sheila was strong and truly a fighter; she fought a long fight and could not fight any longer.
Sheila leaves to treasure her memories to her three daughters, Yolanda Mcallister, Dementia Morris (Brian Metcalfe), Yena (Charles) Turner. Two sons, Andrew Morris Jr (Margaret Turner), Max Morris (Erica Morris). Stepmother Earline Shaw, five brothers Michael Connors, Paul Shaw Jr., Dwayne Shaw Sr., Kenneth (Lisa) Shaw, Kevin (Andrea) Shaw. Five Sisters, Marsha (Booker) Jackson, Sharon (LeRoy) Williams, Yvonne (Michael) Ozier, Valerie (Walter) Bush and Diana (Lamont) Reid. Thirty-four Grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, three living uncles Rolla Connors, Douglas Connors, and Bobby Connors. Three goddaughters, Shelley Vandenberg, Janae McClinton, and Kimberly Manning. Lastly, Sheila leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
