Obituary of R. Keene Fremont Evans, Jr.
R Keene Fremont Evans Jr, 88 years old of Saint Joseph Michigan passed away to be with the Lord on May 13, 2021.
He spent the past few years at the Veterans Administration (Community Living Center)in Battle Creek, Michigan where he had excellent and compassionate care of the staff that looked after him everyday aside from his loving family.
Keene, was with his loving family everyday at the VA for several weeks prior to his passing. He was born May 14, 1932 he served in the army in Korea and was a veteran. He had a deep passion for fishing and went fishing on Lake Michigan and the Saint Joseph River every chance he had. He especially loved fishing and boating on Hamlin Lake, while vacationing with his wife Joann and three children in Ludington, Michigan. The true love of his life with his wife Joann and his three children Lenette, Keene and Keith but his top priority was serving God and going to church at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he and his family were raised.
Keene, was the best husband, father, brother and best loyal friend and anyone who knew him always had nice things to say about him through his life. he always put God and his family first but always have time to help others in need he was extremely loving caring and giving.
Keene worked at Shepherd Products, as Chief Draftsman for many years before retiring.
Keene leaves behind his loving wife Joann Evans, and daughter Lenette Evans, both of Stevensville, Michigan., his two sons Keene(Sandy)Evans of Menefee, California., Keith(Laura) Evans, Aurora, Illinois and three grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, and Eric Evans, and his sister Yvonne(George)Blasy of Stevensville, Michigan and niece Joy (Matt) Glass, Avondale, Arizona.
Keene’s parents R Keene& Ruth Evans, of Benton Harbor, Michigan and his brother James Evans or Sedona Arizona preceded him in death. A graveside memorial service will be held for Keene with the family at Lincoln Charter Township Cemetery where he will be buried with military honors. Keene was also a member of the Stevensville American Legion posts# 568. Keene will always be remembered and never forgotten. He truly was a hero to all who knew him!
