Obituary of Aaron Marquise Holmes

Aaron Marquise Holmes was born December 26, 1997 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo Michigan to Crystal Holmes and Roberto Acoff. He is preceded in death by grandparents: George and Johnnie Mae Holmes, Addie Mae Bradley,.. Hiram Walker, and a very special auntie Carline Stokes. Aaron confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. He rededicated his life in July of 2020 under the leadership of Pastor James Harris. Aaron loved spending time with family and friends. He had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room. He always laughed and made jokes to keep others smiling and laughing with him. Aaron pushed others to be their best and set an example of high standards and exceptional sportsmanship. He was a leader and the type of person that would run to help an elder with their groceries, or stop to help push a car out of a snowbank. Aaron enjoyed nature walks, shopping, and outings with friends and family. He attended Kindergarten at Kalamazoo Advantage Academy. He worked hard at Washington Writer's Academy. Then went on to Milwood Middle School where he participated in track, basketball, football, and wrestling. Aaron graduated from Loy Norrix High School. He was a scholar, mentor, and showed exceptional sportsmanship. He participated in track, football, and wrestling. He made it the national contest and won number 16 in the state. He called h e happy and laughing yelling "I'm finna eatttt." Aaron loved his coaches but spent a lot of time with Coach Hill and Coach Parker. He received an academic scholarship to attend Olivet College where he played football and won a ring in his freshmen year. He also became a member of a wonderful brotherhood. Aaron loved writing and performing his own music. He was extremely talented and motivated others with his sound. He went by the stage name 2 AM. He worked multiple jobs but loved his job at Borgess Hospital. Aaron closed his eyes to catch his wings on Saturday May 8. He leaves to cherish his memories Parents: Lamar and Crystal Harris, and father Roberto Acoff, 3 siblings, brother: Leemuell Thomas, sisters Cryssa Harris, and Samaya Harris, Grandparents: Jeanette Holmes of Kalamazoo, Ml, Micheal Bradley of Saint Louis, MO, Carolyn Harris of Chicago, IL, and Norma Acoff of Birmingham, AL, a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
