Obituary of Robert Lee Spencie

Robert Lee Spencie “Buddy, Bo Zo, Daddy, Pops, Granddad” was born into this world September 6, 1953, in Hughes, Arkansas. Buddy was the oldest of four children born to the union of Mary Ruth Parker and Robert Lee Spencie. Buddy later relocated to Chicago, IL with his mother, step-father, and siblings. Buddy later found a job after high school where he worked as a machinist in a factory. He later joined union with his lifetime partner, Florence Lawson in 1973. And to this union four children were born. Buddy was a hard-working man and a provider for his Family. He enjoyed working on cars and spending quality time with Family and Friends. Buddy is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Parker, his father, Robert Lee Spencie, his step-father, Reverend Charles Cox Sr. and his nephew, Maurice Parker. Buddy leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted and lifetime partner, Florence Lawson of Bangor, MI, a son, Robert Lee Lawson of Holland, MI, 3 daughters, Dr. Christine Taylor of Elizabethtown, KY, Patricia Stewart of Columbia, SC, and Tameka Lawson of Meriden, CT. Two sisters, Leavon Robinson and Alma Parker and one brother Earl Cox Sr. of Kalamazoo, MI. Eight grandchildren: Jaquille, Kierra, Kiontai, Robert, Rikiea, Anthony Jr, Antonio, and Rishard. Two great granddaughters: Twins, Venora and Valencia Dawson and two great-grandsons. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
