I have only recently learned of Don's passing. We worked together for several years in Chicago. Don was warm, funny and could always brighten my day. I am proud to have been his friend.

Uncle Don, I will miss you so much. I thank you and Uncle Tom for being there when I needed you most. For helping me to find my myself and accepting it’s ok to be who you are. You will always be with me. Thank you for your love.. jerry

Don was my brother-in-law for almost 20 years. He was only 10 when I married his brother Boyd. Don was always my favorite. When he got older he was a willing sitter for his nephew Rick and niece Christine. We always enjoyed visits with him and Tom. When Rick finishe Navy boot camp we all went to Six Flags and Tom was the only one who went with me to ride the two tier merry- go-round.

Uncle Don was a wonderful kind loving person. Uncle Don (and husband Tom) were always welcoming and generous to family and especially fond of their nieces and nephews. I still have a dog eared book of poems he gave me for my 13th birthday. That book touched my heart and I shall never part with it. He was accepting of our flaws and consistently showed compassion for others. He was always cheerful and was such a joyful human being! We loved him and he will always be remembered.

Uncle Don was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest soul I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I don’t think I ever saw him angry once. I have so many wonderful memories with him, and my heart is truly broken. I will miss him forever. I’m so glad I got all of the time I did with him, and he will be truly missed by everyone that knew him. There is no death, only a change of worlds. I love you.

Robert and I have so many fond memories of Donald, who was always the perfect host of amazing dinners, parties and barstool ministry. We enjoyed our camping trips and he always kept us laughing with his storytelling. He was a kind soul and we will miss him.
